The C.H.O.I.C.E. Model

The C.H.O.I.C.E. model provides a frame of reference for working efficiently both in one-on-one and team Coaching.

It’s based on the founding principles of Systemic Constellations and this ensures a firm foundation from both a theoretical and a practical perspective.

The C.H.O.I.C.E. model is based on 6 principles, which allow you to approach every complex or difficult situation in the best possible way, because it takes into account the fundamental systemic aspects that bring Clarity, Harmony and Courage into the system.

When you deal with the topic proposed by a client you have to clarify:

Context

The facts, the practical context to which it refers, the essential elements of the proposed topic, the relationship with other aspects that influence or are influenced by the situation, the map of the stakeholders, along with the alignment or the gaps between the client’s goal and that of the larger system.

Holism

The reading of the energies in play in their physical, emotional and cognitive dimension; a common perspective founded on WE (team/company/community) is more effective than one based on I (individual/function/part). You must create a vision based on the alignment of the different elements and out of a sense of unity at all levels.

Order

The order of the system’s key elements is fundamental. Each element requires a proper place based on the system’s priorities. If the elements are in the right order the system works well, otherwise there will be elements that will have a dysfunctional effect.

Inclusion

Each element of the system has a right to belong and must be included, appreciating and taking advantage of the value of diversity. If an element is not included it will exhibit dysfunctional reactions of some kind, the other elements will be affected by this exclusion and the system will not be able to function at its best.

Collaboration

The interactions between the elements must abide by the principle of explicit and balanced exchange between giving and receiving. A high level of cooperation and constructive dialogue is only possible if this happens.

Ecology

It’s necessary to assess the impact of the solutions identified in terms of side effects and sustainability over time. If the solutions adopted are ecological then they’ll have a positive influence on the larger system and work in the collective interest.

Every principle of the model is used in a specific way, when you apply it to issues that relate to the individual, the team, or to the organization, to ensure the quality and the effectiveness of the Coaching process.
